Civicinnovationlab.la including the Services provided through this website are properties of Civic Innovation Lab. All entry information and submissions, including team and concept details, shall be collectively referred to herein as the “submissions” or each as a “submission.”

In this Privacy policy, all mentions of “Sponsor” or “Sponsors” refer collectively to all Sponsors of Challenge:LA.

Information We Collect:

Civic Innovation Lab may collect personal information about site visitors in order to conduct the Challenge and promote activities. You may be asked to provide personally identifiable information (such as your name, email address, phone number, and mailing address) when using the website or making a submission to the Challenge. To enter the Challenge, you will also be required to submit non-personally identifiable information including, but not limited to, the name of your concept, description of your concept, images representing your concept, and answers to specific questions posed on the submission form.

USE OF INFORMATION: We use personally identifiable information for the purposes of conducting and communicating about ongoing and future Challenges. Additionally we may use your information to monitor site traffic, and to conduct research, analysis, and studies for our own purposes. Occasionally, Civic Innovation Lab may also use your information to contact you about Civic Innovation Lab activities. We will do our best to keep these communications to a minimum.

Third Party Sharing:

Civic Innovation Lab may share your personally identifiable information with agents, contractors, partners, and Challenge Sponsor(s) in connection to ongoing Challenges and services that these individuals or entities perform for, or with, Civic Innovation Lab. By submitting your information to us, you acknowledge that we may share your information with these parties as part of conducting these Challenges and services. We may also share your information with the following parties:

  • PUBLIC: If you enter the Challenge, select information from your submission may be shared publicly, including your name, concept name, and concept description.

  • LEGAL: As required by law, Civic Innovation Lab may share your information when legally compelled to do so. This may include to government entities or to third parties in response to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal processes. Civic Innovation Lab may also disclose personally identifiable information in order to protect and defend our legal rights, or defend against legal claims that have been, or may be brought against us. Additionally we may share this information in order to protect the rights, property, or safety of you or another person. In this instance, we may share your personally identifiable information with law enforcement or another entity we feel, in our sole judgment, may be able to protect you or the other person. Finally, should Civic Innovation Lab reasonably feel than any activities are unlawful we will report these activities to law enforcement.

  • SALES/MERGERS/ACQUISITIONS: Should Civic Innovation Lab be sold, acquired, or merge with another entity, all of its assets, including your personally identifiable information, will be transferred to the new entity and therefore be subject to a new Privacy Policy. We will make reasonable efforts to inform you of this event prior to transferring your information.
